A new homeschool year
begins began this last week. We’re excited about the new year, though I’m not entirely sure we were ready to close out summer break.
Summer was different than I’d envisioned. The teacher in me thought we would spend a decent amount of time continuing some level of formal learning over the summer. I had ideas of reading logs and math worksheets floating, but this didn’t not happen. Not even to a small degree.
Instead, we spent days doing nothing, some things, and a few other things in between.
We went hiking.
We traveled to visit relatives in Florida. While we were there, we got our toes wet. It turns out that Ty is a big fan of the beach. He simply did not want to get out of the water.
I had no idea how much Ty loves the beach. He had an amazing time just being in the water.
T had a pain crisis that kept us in the hospital for a few days…then we were housebound for the week that followed. Thankfully, he’s made a full recovery. He’s back to being his bouncy, full of life, desiring to learn self.
And he had the best care while we were there.
Now we are all ready for a new homeschool year to begin.
The pencils are sharpened. The brushes are refilled. The printer has ink. The children are here too.
All ready to get started…well, a little.
Standing at the corner of our little pond wishing you a wonderful year!
