I had a date this past weekend (Woo-hoo!). Now that T. is one, we are trying to get back in the habit for going out occasionally without the children. I believe in continuing to date past the wedding bells. With small children, it becomes difficult and we have learned that the more children you have, the harder it becomes to find suitable care and spend time away from the little ones. There seems to always be something to do with them or for them. Needless to say, we were thrilled when my mother-in-law volunteered to keep the kids long enough for us to have dinner or see a movie.
I don’t get out much so I thought I’d pretty up, wear a dress and style my hair differently from how I usually do. I picked a bright dress, with no food stains (emphasis on no food stains), stood in front of the mirror playing with my hair to see just what I could come up with. I was nervous to disrupt the shape of it since it had already dried. My hair turns into a fuzzy top quite easily, if I simply look at it the wrong way while it’s dry. Okay, I exaggerate, but it truly is not a fan of much manipulation. I tried pulling the shorter side back for a slick look and ended up loving the look. It gave me the idea for the faux-hawk I ended up wearing. I used small pins to hold the sides back. I don’t think I’ve ever worn my hair this way before so the newness of it was attractive.
Have you tried any new styles lately? Have you spent any private time with your spouse lately?
