Is this thing on? Ummm… Hello?
Hi friends, it’s been such a long time since I’ve written on this dearly beloved blog. My blogging hiatus began as a brief period of rest since other areas of life had grown more demanding. Our family moved at the end of November, and between setting up our home and homeschooling, things got busy.
Once things settled, I must admit I felt guilty for not finishing the series on Acts. I thought of writing many times, but simply did not know where to begin. Each time I thought I would soon get back on here and all fired up…but the longer I waited, the more difficult it became to return to this little space.
Without turning this post into a lengthy life lesson learned, I would be remiss to say I didn’t learn anything during my blogging hiatus. So, let’s talk about what these were.
3 Things I Learned During My Blogging Hiatus
- Writing requires a habit. All habits require practice. I was in the habit of writing, and the moment I postponed my writing, albeit for good reasons, my writing muscle weakened.
- It’s OK to begin although feeling unprepared. I could have written almost anything to get started back up but I did not give myself the freedom to do so. As a result, I kept waiting…and many months owe a wait to their memory.
- Guilt is self-imposed. I had all these ideas of what my readers must have thought, or how hard it would be to jump back into writing. In some ways, I feared the response or not having a plausible explanation, but ultimately these were all my thoughts projected onto an imaginary audience.
I hope you have been well these past few months, and let’s get chatting again.
